The Brentwood Heights Apartment Buildings community in the north-west of Calgary is owned by Weidner Properties. There are 240 units in total in 16 different three-storey blocks. There are two different styles of unit available, a bungalow and a bi-level, both of which are two-bedroom. All units are offered fully renovated. The grounds of the complex also offers several green spaces for residents. All units have air conditioning and in-suite laundry.

Bungalows are located on the ground floor of all the blocks and have a large concrete patio area and are 1,000 sq ft. The living room is carpeted and has a fireplace. The kitchen is fully renovated with modern wood cabinets and quartz countertops. The appliances are either black or stainless steel and consist of fridge/freezer, range, microwave and dishwasher. The bathrooms are large with double quartz vanity and plenty of cupboard space. The master bedroom is a good size with the second bedroom being slightly smaller. Both are carpeted and have storage, although it is not enclosed. The dining area, kitchen and bathroom have vinyl flooring.

The bi-level units are on the top two floors of the blocks are 1,145 sq ft and as you enter there is a large under-stairs storage area. The open stairs lead to the large living room, dining room, kitchen and laundry. All are finished to the same standard as the bungalows, but the kitchen is slightly larger, as is the laundry room. Upstairs are two bedrooms and a bathroom. The master is large and has open storage, the second bedroom is considerably smaller, but there is further storage in the upper hallway. The bathroom has a single vanity. The bi-levels have a concrete patio off the living room and another off the master bedroom.

No utilities are included in the rent of these units, so the tenant is responsible for any water, sewage, electricity or gas usage as well as any internet, cable etc. As these units were built in the 1970s, the insulation may not be up to today’s standard and therefore may result in higher than average costs for heating etc. This should be taken into account before renting. The buildings are also wood construction and we noticed loud footfalls from the tenants above the bungalows. If this is a concern of yours, you should consider the bi-level units instead.

There are no amenities in the complex, but an outdoor parking stall is included in the rent.
